St Patrick's Day Dinner 2006 : Once again Julie cooked up an Irish storm of corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatos and Guinness stew. Jessie chipped in with carrot soup, Joel Karnolt brought homemade soda bread, and Cathy Giuliano made her traditional coffee cake. We were stuffed! What's new? After dinner we listened to a few Irish ballads and taught the infants how to gamble. Slainte.

Easter 2006 : Mimi, Jeanne, Pat, Alex, Jen, Geoff, Patrick, Sean, John, Keyla, Nathaniel, Ayva, Jessica, and James all joined Julie & I for Easter Dinner. Scrumptous food and lots of goodies. Nice to spend some time with the family.

Live music, fife and drum band, patriotic sentiments, Pledge of Allegiance, Star Spangled Banner, barbeque chicken, big crowds on the MCC lawn, diverse crowds from every walk of life, and the fireworks! Thanksgiving 2002 : 2002 was the year of the pie! Julie and Lori made pumpkin pie, apple pie, minced meat pie, three berry pie, chocolate cream pie, and banana cream pie. There was a pie for every person in the house and Lori's house was packed. It was also one of the few times in recent years we were able to spend a winter holiday with Mum and Bill. We all miss them when they take flight for Arizona to escape the cold winters of Vermont. Being with them was a blessing. We were all thankful for the moment together.

John 1:14 We had a phenomenal Christmas at home with the extended family. We began with a prayer and we were blessed with fun, food and friendship throughout the day. It was wonderful to be with everyone - Mimi, Pat, Julie, Geoff, Jennifer, Keyla,John, Ian, Matt, Alex, Jessica, Amanda, James, Reid, Sarah, Sean, Patrick, Nathaniel and Ayva!

Thanksgiving 2005 : Our harvest being gotten in, our governor sent four men on fowling, that so we might, after a special manner, rejoice together after we had gathered the fruit of our labors. They four in one day killed as much fowl as, with a little help beside, served the company almost a week. At which time, among other recreations, we exercised our arms, many of the Indians coming among us, and among the rest their greatest king, Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted; and they went out and killed five deer, which they brought to the plantation, and bestowed on our governor, and upon the captain and others. And although it be not always so plentiful as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God we are so far from want, that we often wish you partakers of our plenty. - Edward Winslow, Plymouth Colony - 1621 Not quite the reenactment of the 1st Thanksgiving, but we were incredibly grateful to have our Vermont family spring a last minute visit on us. Rob, Lori, Ashley & Andy braved icy weather and heavy traffic to join us in a day filled with delicious food and family friendship. What a treat!

Easter 2005 : A much quiter Easter than years past. Fewer people, no Easter Egg hunt, and corned beef instead of ham - Julie was away on St. Patrick's Day!. Still, the same celebration and appreciation of the sacrifice our Lord made for us. It was a glorious day.

Being together was the best gift we could have wished for!

Thanksgiving 2004 : Another in the long line of holiday meals prepared by the great Chef Julie. We were blessed by the company of many including Mimi and my sisters Jeanne, Pat, and Jennifer, my niece and God daughter, Alisa and her family, and my own Jessica with her friend Hien. Alex, Ian and Reid came by later to take in a movie on the big screen and sample the enormous pie collection. All in all a very peaceful day surrounded by people who make it easy to be thankful. Thank you, Lord for such wonderful family and friends.
